The Native Forest Council Is:
Native Forest Council is a nonprofit, 501(C)3 organization founded by a group of business and professional
people alarmed by the willful destruction of our public lands. We believe a sound economy and a sound environment
need not be incompatible and that current public land management practices are devastating to both. Also see our
expanded mission statement.
Membership:
The Council has approximately 3,000 members in the United States and around the world.
Goals:
 |
• |
Zero Cut: An end to the costly, destructive and illegal logging on our national forests.
|
|
• |
Forever Wild: Total protection from all forms of destruction (including mining, logging, grazing,
drilling and motorized recreation) that threaten our public lands (including national parks, national
forests, BLM lands and wildlife refuges).
|
Methodology:
To achieve our goals, the Council works primarily to educate the public, our leaders and the
media about public lands issues. We also participate in legal action, grassroots organizing and publicity campaigns.
Funding:
The Council is funded by members, donors and foundations. Funding is allocated efficiently and responsibly.
