The Other Side
Corporate Propaganda Disguised as Environmental Education

At a time when school funding is scarce, supplies are dwindling, and corporations are willing to step in with false information, it has become increasingly important for teachers to share their knowledge and experience with others.

The Groups listed below offer lesson plans that are not only environmentally sound but also fun.

The Truax
The Truax is a children's book modeled after Dr. Seuss's Lorax and funded by the Hardwood Forest Foundation and the National Oak Flooring Manufacturers Association. Four hundred thousand copies of Truax have been distributed to elementary schools nationwide. This is an excerpt from the book. To see a review of the Lorax, click here.

Greening Earth Society
"Greening Earth Society promotes the optimistic scientific view that CO2 is beneficial to humankind and all of nature." Basically speaks for itself, there, doesn't it? They're funded by the Western Fuels Association.

Project Learning Tree
Project learning tree works with students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. Funded by the American Forest Foundation (e.g. Boise Cascade)
