The Willamette National Forest: circa 1995

Oregon's Willamette National Forest was first established as the Cascade Forest Reserve by President Grover Cleveland in 1893. After decades of obscene clearcutting, the Willamette is now scarred by more than 8,000 miles of logging roads. This national forest is but one example of the need to protect America's public lands.
