Who's Teaching Our Children?
When it comes to the environment, it's probably a greedy corporation. In
fact, much of what our children learn about ecology was produced by the
very people responsible for destroying our planet. Corporate America has
launched an all-out assault on our nation's public schools, dominating environmental
curriculum.
What Are They Telling Our Children?
- That clearcuts help forests.
- That plastics are great for burning and dumping in landfills.
- That gasoline is solar power.

A "Whif" of Nature
Salem, Oregon, High School science teacher John Borowski invites parents
and teachers to reach out to kids and tell them the TRUTH about America's
forests.
Dear Friends of Old growth and soon to be old growth forests...
A Corvallis
Gazette article is titled "Kids get a whiff of nature"...Corvallis
6th grade public school kids are at outdoor school. "In their handbooks,
the kids record such information as how many trees were in a tenth of
an acre of older trees compared with the number of trees on a recently
planted hillside. Melissa used her observations as the basis of a theory
as why there are more trees in a younger forest. "It's competition," she
explained, "The big tree blocked out the light, and the other couldn't
grow." Do you 'get a whiff of a rat?' ...... Starker
Forests and Williamette
Industries provided money and supplied volunteer "teachers" for the
program. And we wonder why young adults are jaded? According to the above
paragraph, Oregon will never run out of trees, especially if we replace
those "big trees that block out light" .......When will we counter this
assault on our children? C'mon folks, let's reach out to our children,
future voters and concerned citizens. If you see examples of this info
in your hood or backyard, please send it to me.
Thanks, John Borowski
